Background:Lamisil is an antifungal agent. Its antifungal effect is well established and well tolerated in the clinical practice, but its price may be lower than the average retail price (ATP) for most pharmacies. We hypothesized that Lamisil could reduce the incidence of fungal infections with the lowest price, without causing additional side effects. Materials and Methods: We conducted a retrospective, descriptive study to assess the cost of the medication in the retail pharmacies of four large US cities, using the price of Lamisil tablets. The results show that the cost per 100 patient days for Lamisil is ~$30.00 per month, while the cost per 100 patient days for Lamisil Cream is ~$20.50 per month for the same drug.
Results: There were no statistically significant differences between the prices per 100 patient days for Lamisil Cream (n = 5,749) and the price of Lamisil Tablets (n = 3,958) when the prices were compared with the lowest price (n = 5,749).
Conclusions: The cost per 100 patient days of Lamisil Cream (without a prescription) is lower than the retail price of Lamisil Tablets (n = 5,749), suggesting that the reduced price may be due to a lower volume of use.

It works to prevent the growth of fungi, insect and fungal skin, and It helps the body fight off the infection. It may be used on the skin only. It will not cure the infection. You should apply Lamisil Cream by gently rubbing a small amount of cream into the affected area, for the full length of the treatment. Do not apply Lamisil Cream more often than directed. If symptoms get worse or do not improve after several days, you should contact your doctor. The medicine will not cure t the infection. It may take 1 to 3 days before the full course of treatment is completed. If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once. Consult your doctor if the symptoms get worse or do not improve after several days. If you get affected, you should see a doctor immediately. If you have any troublesome symptoms, contact your doctor as soon as possible.
